COVID-19

This collection showcases all you need to know about COVID-19. The Coronavirus disease 2019 is a contagious disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The first case was identified in Wuhan, China, in December 2019. The disease has since spread worldwide, leading to an ongoing pandemic. Several countries were on lockdown mode. The virus is identified by a technique called polymerase chain reaction also known as PCR Test. Everyone can protect themselves by wearing a face mask (N95, KN95, surgical masks, cotton masks…), face shields & gloves. To stay safe & avoid getting COVID-19, people also apply social distancing, they sanitize their hands & stay home. A double mask is now recommended by medical doctors and researchers. If tested positive to COVID-19, symptoms might vary but often include fever, cough, fatigue, breathing difficulties, and loss of smell and taste. Symptoms begin one to fourteen days after exposure to the virus, they normally last 14 days unless oxygen level drops than people are required to go straight to the hospital to use the oxygen machine and be monitored there, severe cases are put in the ICU, they are intubated there. COVID-19 survivors might feel some side-effects after a couple of months from testing negative. Their body should produce COVID-19 antibodies after a month from being tested negative. In 2020, COVID-19 emergency vaccines were distributed worldwide, most countries started vaccinating the medical staff, the elderlies, and the sick people. All people will hopefully be vaccinated in the coming years.
