Submission Guidelines

  • Theme: Your photo should authentically represent modern life in your country, challenging stereotypes and showcasing real experiences.
  • Original Work: Submissions must be original and taken by the participant within the last 12 months.
  • No Mobile Photography: Only images captured with professional cameras are accepted.
  • No Logos or Trademarks: Images must not contain any visible logos or trademarks.
  • Quality Standards:
    • Format: JPEG or PNG
    • Resolution: Minimum 300 DPI
    • Size: Up to 20 MB per image
  • Model Releases: If your photo includes recognizable people, you must obtain a signed model release, which can be filled out in the Scopio dashboard during submission. Fill out the model release here.
  • Additional Information: You must add a location, title, and keywords to each image when uploading it to our system. We will find your images based on the location tag so don't forget it!
  • Number of Entries: Each participant can submit up to 20 photographs.
  • Caption and Description: Provide a brief description for each photo, explaining the context and significance. Use the story section to share why this photo is important and what it represents about modern life in your country.
  • Terms: These images will live non-exclusive on Scopio and you keep the copyright.

How to Submit

  1. Prepare Your Photos: Ensure they meet all the guidelines mentioned above.
  2. Fill Out the Submission Form: Click here to access the form or submit directly via the Scopio app.
  3. Upload Your Entries: Attach your photos, add the required location, title, and keywords, and fill out any necessary model releases.
  4. Review and Submit: Double-check all information before submitting.
  5. Confirmation: You will receive a confirmation email once your submission is successful.

Submissions close on September 20, 2024, at 11:59 PM GMT.


Judging Criteria

Our panel of expert judges from the photography and arts community will evaluate submissions based on:

  • Relevance to Theme: How well the photo captures and conveys modern life and challenges stereotypes.
  • Originality and Creativity: Unique perspective and creative composition.
  • Technical Excellence: Quality of execution including focus, lighting, and post-processing.
  • Emotional Impact: Ability to evoke emotions and tell a compelling story.

  • Judging Period: September 27, 2024 - October 9, 2024
  • Winners Announcement: October 20, 2024

Q: Do I retain the rights to my photographs?
A: Yes, photographers retain full ownership and rights to their work. By submitting, you grant Scopio the rights to use your photos for non-exclusive use on Scopio.

Q: Can I submit photos taken on a smartphone?
A: No, only photos taken with professional cameras are accepted for this contest.

Q: Are photo manipulations allowed?
A: Basic editing and color corrections are allowed, but excessive manipulation that alters the reality of the scene is discouraged.

Q: Is there an entry fee?
A: No, participation in this contest is completely free.
